It's that time of year again, time for a Download topic and what better way to start it than with the announcement of Metallica headlining Download 2012!

Dates and more acts are still to be announced, I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for Alter Bridge again but reckon I'll still get a ticket, last year was brilliant.

Black Sabbath have just been announced that they are headlining Sunday - they're reuniting after 33 years!

It's funny you said that. I remember one of the Black Sabbath members expressing his contempt for a supposed "friend / journalist" for suggesting that a Black Sabbath reunion was on the cards, and that this was absolutely not true. Oh yeah, here we go:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/16/us-blacksabbath-idUSTRE77F6ST20110816

Iommi said he was just speculating and described the report as "absolute nonsense."

What annoyed me was that I was thinking how bad journalists are for spinning stories, and lo and behold, turns out the band were getting back together for this. Great to see them together again for it, but wish they hadn't gone about it like this.

Metallica and rise against are probably the bands I'd like to see most, but the line up so far doesn't make me want to pay out for a ticket just yet

Black Label Society are pretty good, and Slash with Myles Kennedy would be awesome to see, however the price of the tickets is just horrendous.

Tickets are on sale at current price until midday 2nd Feb when they will be taken down and released again at 5pm at an increased price of £10. It's a lot of money to spend out in one go, but if you add up how much it would cost to go see all those bands individually it would be much more than the price of a weekend ticket. I'm fortunate that my other half lives literally a 15 minute drive away from the festival so we'll be heading home each night to warm beds and showers!

I'm really impressed with the line-up and expected nothing less seeing as it's their 10th Birthday. Slash and Myles Kennedy will be headlining the second stage whilst Prodigy will be on the main stage which I'm extremely pleased about. I heart Myles Kennedy!

I heart Myles too hahaha.

The thing is, I wouldn't want to see all those bands, at least, not all in one go, especially when sometimes you get something of a burnout of the intermediate bands. You get so blasé about all the music playing that there comes a point when this happens: "Shall we go and see....?" and the response will be "Nah, can't be ....... (too tired)".

Plus, there are so many people there you end up getting beaten to death if you are at the front, and at the back so you're far away you're watching a TV screen.

And, personally, what I would rather do is spend the same amount of money seeing those bands, but stagger it out over the year.

But it's okay, a facebook friend says her friend knows the person in the photograph and she's okay!

The schaudenfreude may commence. I had endless fun checking my facebook page to see all of the 'I'm cold and wet :C' statuses over the weekend xD

It was my article, he just enjoyed reading it and wrote a tweet about it, so that's why you might be getting confused. Also, I edited that article on my phone, how good is that?!
