Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

It's been shown many times over that the brain doesn't see the world in realtime, but constructs an internal sense of continuity from various inputs. This partly accounts for the pause when you first look at a clock face and it seems to take three seconds to do one second :)
