Emotionless with a glued on grin,

What’s happening deep within?

Yesterday was a silent stare,

What’s gone on to cause this mess?

Nothing that you can confess?

Flawed in the role of the lying wife,

Your words as sharp as a carving knife,

Expressionless eyes meet a book,

Laid down on a desk in which I look,

I feel your stare as I sit nearby,

Where has your true self gone?
