That's not really considered an acceptable term anymore, so it's probably best to steer clear of it. I find that all people come across differently, and the way they are as individuals defines how I feel about them - just because I don't know anyone from Hawaii doesn't mean I wouldn't find someone from Hawaii attractive.

I've never really understood the different 'race' distinctions in America, does that mean someone has a Spanish background? It seems really stupid but I'm not that knowledgeable about race as such - I've never really been very good at telling where people are from or their ethnic background just based on appearance, but I've never really considered it a problem - at the end of the day if someone's a nice person that's all that matters to me! I've never even considered whether I'd consider different races attractive or not, as you say I don't really have any particular preconceptions as to whether I'm gonna find someone attractive or not based on their race alone - it seems a bit of an odd thing to limit yourself to! I guess if all you're exposed to throughout your life are white Western faces, then you probably are more likely to find them attractive because they're more 'familiar', but who knows >.<

Jvicky, you hit it right on there, and no I wouldn't laugh at you for watching that programme.  I think it's fascinating as a one off, a social experiment if you will (like Big Brother was initially, before they did the subsequent series).  Of course attraction is part of romance and relationships etc, but what is more important is the person themselves.  If you base your relationship purely on attractiveness then you're going to feel pretty unfulfilled later down the road.  Guys who do that tend to have that mid life crisis, get the two seater little sports convertible, along with a much much younger "thing" to fill the passenger seat.  Ditto women too these days it seems.  If the other person can make you laugh, pick you up when your down, be there in your corner when you need them and have common interests / goals in life, then that should be the basis, not the skin colour or "marks out of 10 for attractiveness".  I sometimes wonder if this is why celeb marriages often don't make it that far.....
